Well, I guess it's time to introduce myself, something I negected to do when I first joined in.

My name is Lonnie and I'm a 44 years old single mom from Israel. Naturally, I don't have a lot of time to pursue hobbies, but FS is the one passion I am not willing to give up. Men's is my favorite discipline, always was, and you all know who my favorite skater is.

My daughter is 6. She is mostly resigned to watching FS with me when she prefers one of her kiddie shows. This evening ESPN Israel was showing the US nationals Ladies Free and I told her she could watch a movie after the competition was done (I lied, I knew she'd be asleep by then) and she asked me "where's your boyfriend, mommy?" 'cause she figured if skating was on there'd be Brian...

I also love to read, something you can do late at night, cook and handcrafts, but I don't have a lot of time for the latter these days.

I had a very bad autumn. My dear mother, who had fought cancer for 8 years, died this October. I am still finding my legs back. She was my best friend and my partner in raising my daughter. Mom was a very strong person and I hope I will do her proud on my own.

I guess this is kind of a sad note to go out on, so I will end this post on a positive note - it is my birthday today and I am definately due something good in the near future after the last few months....

I'm sorry for your mom, I know how it is like - to loose a loved one to cancer, it's a terrible disease

on the BJDG, Lonnie! I'm very sorry about your mother, i'm great friends with my mom too and i imagine it must be really hard for you without her. But think of your little daughter, she'll grow up faster than you think and i'm sure you'll find a great friend in her too Besides, here on the BJDG people are very friendly, so i think it was a very good idea of you to join this board if you're looking for friends

Well, I think and unfortunetely that many people here and elsewhere lose loved people because of cancer which is a shit...Personnally I lose my grandfather who also fight many years against it...I understand you of course! I hope, be here with us will help you to "forget" a bit about this !!! Enjoy it here and again a warm welcome ;-)))
