The IFS magazine article I mentioned in my previous post suggests that the FFSG wasn't too enthusiastic about this, either. But I agree, there aren't really better options for him at this point. Orser would have been great but with Adam Rippon already there, I don't think that would have worked in the long-term, to have two top men's skaters of different nationalities training together. If he's comfortable working with Guyon, it may turn out fine. They're not the same people they were five years ago, and he can always do shorter camps and training stints with other coaches, as he did this summer.

I agree with you, too. If I remember correctly, it was Guyon who first contacted Brian in the spring. So I don't think she would have been Brian's choice if she herself wouldn't have been offered. And during the summer he just run out of options.

I think Orser would have been a better coach. I don't know how much Guyon knows about COP and other areas in which Brian isn't so good at. I hope they won't start arguing in the middle of the season. blahblah

I understand your reservations concerning Brian's finds with Veronique but I think that it is better for him, coaches are not forcing leaving to become established in Poitiers for x reason because Brian wants to stay "at home "! She knows him very well, all I wish it is that they delayed very flat (their digervences of opinion) not to forget that it is it which l' discovered!

I agree with you ! This is difficult with his desire to stay home, but I hope that this colaboration will bear fruit, and we hope he is mature enough to not blow up a cable to any contrariétée ... precisely because Veronique to have air an iron fist, and that is what he needs I think Wink

Hmmmmmm, maybe this time working with Veronique will work. If I'm honest, I'm a bit skeptical, but I hope that it will work out. Smile

Back to Veronique? ....okay....maybe, lol. It's not as though Brian has many choices (actually he has zero choices as all the other top elite coaches are taken). It's a damn shame the Orser thing didn't come to fruition but perhaps if Brian continues to make trips to Toronto to tune up his skills, every now and then, this coaching stint with Guyon will work out. I guess all that can be said is...we'll see.

well from all the coaches he had, my favourite was Simond and after him Laurent. Simond made mistakes but we all learn from our mistakes...

I guess the good news is that Brian has gone "green" by recycling his coaches. Didn't Veronique abandon Brian twice? That's how he ended up with Berezintsev in 2005-06. Oh well. Brian is a grown man. If he is working with Veronique again for the sake of staying in Poitiers, then he has to live with the results. At least she knows him well.

Where is Didier Gailhaguet? IF the FFSG has agreed to this arrangement, then DG should stop his complaining when things go wrong.

Didier Gaillaguet had to make the grimace but has the choice to you to him? leave Brian without coach during season because BRIAN VEUT to stay at home?
Brian has never wanted to give in on the question of Poitiers and agrees to go from time to time to make practice (Canada? USA? I will lean of the side Orser in spite of Rippon if I can say because he is one of the main internationnaux rivals of Brian).
Veronique knows Brian perfectly, she knows how "it works".. Brian should not be easy every day. It will be also necessary to manage his omnipresent mom what should not be obvious for a coach.
In ms eyes, Brian had good coaches Veronique and J.C SIMOND, Laurent comes from it 3eme position!

LOL, I always thought Simond contributed to Brian's 'golden' year, he seemed like one who would seek precision and discipline. Smile
