Oh... So Amodio is going to Vancouver? I would have preferred Alban or Yannick...

Considering the result of these French championships, I do not think that the choice for Vancouver is still stopped. Certainly, since the beginning of the season, Florent Amodio impress by his performances, but it is only its first season in senior. It seems to me preferable to choose a skater with more experience.
For that purpose, Alban seems to me the being the ideal candidate. He remains relatively stable in his performances, knows how to manage the pressure and has some years of experience behind him.
Yannick Ponsero realizes beautiful competitions, but he has difficulty in managing the pressure. I think sincerely that for JO, it is necessary to have skaters in the iron mental.
We shall know about it more after European championships.

I'm disappointed with the results in a dimension of Alban's prospects.I DO believe he is the strongest male french skater after Brian. His result at SC proves that, meanwhile Ponsero and Amodio always fail important international competitions. In my opinion to make a decision about Olympic contenders after the French Nats is stupid. Some skaters can't concentrate completely and perform well in front of native audience,BRIAN AS WELL btw,and Alban sometimes too;)Alban has worked a lot during 4 recent years,he reached many podiums and he succeeded in QUAD.Amodio is TOO young and Ponsero has no moral stability...

I'm agree with Nastya Smile

I wish Alban on OG and I will NOT take other decidion.

After SP's result I was happy that Yannik was 1st (if Alban couldn't do it) but after LP I'm disappointed why he lost it. Yannick tell me WHY?????

I agree with you ladies. Alban is the strongest candidate to go to Vancouver. Florent is still very young, and Yannick is unreliable. Alban remains consistent, and unlike Florent and Yannick, he actually medalled at one of his Grand Prix assignments.

FFSG is supposed to announce their final decision on Tuesday but L'Equipe leaves no doubt the second spot will be given to Florent...

While my own personal preference would be for Alban, I wouldn't be suprised if Florent goes to Vancouver - he is the future of French mens skating & it makes perfect sense to send him for the Olympic experience now so that he can better challenge in the future.

Only having two spots this year is a direct result of sending Ponsero to last year's Worlds instead of Alban, it was a gample that flopped! Bad decision FFSG!!

Congratulations to Florent if he wins his place, but I don't really understand. scratch
For several years, Alban (Yannick too), works a lot and takes down results. But to what is it of use if a skater in his first year in senior is sent to JO on his place? (No no I have nothing against Florent:)). And then, seen his progress, Florent will have certainly his place in Sochi in 2014.
Let us wait for the definitive decision but especially let us not try to understand. lol!

Alban keeps his positive attitude and holds little hope for being selected to the Olys team:

There was supposed to be a sort of official announcement today - but instead we got Euros selections.
If Florent is really going to Olys - why he's not in the Euros team?

Wink

I understand, I understand, but regrettably the age is not enough for going towards the highest march. Florent was apparently over the others. Nevertheless the judges have of the credit note no ease to cut. Alban has a particular clean style, which defines him very well even. However, his originality still has difficulty in passing I find, and it's a pity.

Yannick has a perfect glide which few masters and an excellent quadruple, but mental sound be lacking often and harms him.Later, it is true that OG it is the very particular competition and Florent, although that very well and I consider in it strong for the continuation. The successor of Brian, I think that it is necessary of the body, the courage and thus the nerves of steel and for that, the only one to be able to go there: Alban. Wink
