Nastya, if you say enough times that something, even if it's complete sh*t, is in fact God's gift to humanity, maybe eventually people will begin to believe it. And - sadly - so will the judges. I think that's what the Russian fed is trying to do. No doubt the news will hit the headlines, there will be this huge media frenzy (Rudkovskaya will see to it). Given that whatever scant knowledge of figure skating people here have these days is based on Ice Age with calf-legged celebrities moving like dummies, it will be almost too easy to persuade everyone that Plushenko means business. It's such a predictable Dima-Bilan-at-Eurovision-2008 scenario it's almost painful to watch it happening all over again, this time on the ice rather than on the stage.

Stupidly, the Ladies and Ice Dance competitions are not taking place until next week. Ladies SP is next Thursday, and the Ladies LP is Jan 23 (next Saturday), which is same day as the Free Dance. Who at the USFSA thought this was a good idea?!
