Sasha Cohen wasn't too smart when it comes to strategy. She was assuming that she could return in the Grand Prix and US Nationals leading up to the Olympics. The GP didn't work out as she planned and that left her with, only, US Nationals but, because her programs had so little exposure before the judges and their vital feedback, she lost out on an Olympic berth. Personally, I thought she was totally nuts to return this last fall. There were simply too many things to go wrong, too many unanswered questions about her training and conditioning. Apparently Sasha couldn't understand that, lol. When Todd Eldridge tried another run for an Olympics he started the season before the Olympics. This gave him lots of time to prepare and get that all important feedback from the judges via the competitions. Oh, well....live and learn.
