PostSubject: Card for Brian :D   Sun 31 Jan - 23:13

Hello Ladies,

Well I figured with the Olympics coming up, maybe it would be a good idea to show us our support by sending Brian a huge goodluck card with supporting messages from all of us! I suggested the idea in the announcements today and a few of you already supported the idea.
I think that Brian really could appreciate it, specialy now with the olympics.

So what I would like to know if there are more members who would like to join the project?
And if there are, how can we arrange this at this short notice?

My thoughts: to make sure that every member knows about this project, we could send a pm to all members (with a deadline). So we would be sure that all member of this board are up to date and have an opportunity to join the project . Maybe one person could buy a card which is big enough to include all messages.I think every member who wants to join the project could write something small (english or french) and send it to the person who will write all the messages on the card. After that we could send the card to Brian in Poitiers Very Happy

Would this be a good idea?

Let me know!

Count me in! However, in regard to sending a card, I think it's important to note that many of the postal services around the world are notoriously slow to deliver mail. We only have a tiny amount of time to pull this off. Perhaps we should consider sending out messages by email or PM to Manon or one of our French members who could, then, relay it directly to Brian. Otherwise, I'm not sure there is sufficient time for a card to make it around to all the members to get it that sign up for this project. It's important to be aware that some of the members who will participate do not live in Europe but are spread out between Japan, the US, South America, etc. and it will take a card, traveling between all of us, a heck of a long time to get back in time to give the thing to Brian.

I think Manon meant that we write our messages here and then one of us writes them om the card on behalf of all of us...not send the card all around the world...It would be all tattered up by the time it reached France, haha.
But maybe relaying it directly to Brian is an even better idea (at least we'll know he got the messages). Gonna start thinking about what I want to say to him right away...will check back later!

Yes that's what I meant! Maybe it would be even better if members would pm the messages instead of posting it here.

Would it also be a good idea to send a pm to all members of the board today? And give all members one week to send the messages.

manon, i'm in but i am afraid it won't reach in time.
i am sure brian will leave for vancouver sometime before the competition to adjust to the time change and all.
so the card is a good idea but i wonder about the delivery !

Are there also members going to vancouver? Maybe one of them could hand it over in person?

I think Anastasia is going...but I could be wrong. Someone else was also going. Might be best to give it personally. Still working on the message...but I read in my e-mail I have until Sunday 7 Frebruary.
