Thanks for clearing that up, lol. I was hoping Manon really didn't mean to do it that way.

Holy cow that soon!

Maybe it would be a better idea to send the card to one of the members who are attending the olympic games with speed post?

As far as I know Sheena and Irina are both going...

Is it easy to meet the skaters off-ice at the olympics with press, officials etc ?

I'm going to look for a card today in the big city!
They don't sell these cards in my own town Arrow

I guess it would be best to try and hand the card to Brian personally. However, I bet he will be SO hard to get there. This will be Olys so the interest and security will both be quite high. Even at worlds it was almost impossible to get to any skater so Olys must be even more difficult. Still, if handing the card personally doesn't work the card may be always thrown to the ice after the program Smile
Anyway, count me in Wink

...just to confirm that Irina & I are leaving for Vancouver on Saturday 13th February, so any card would have to be with one of us by Friday 12th February at the absolute latest.....I also have a little (ie. normal sized!) "good luck" card for Brian, I'm happy to wirite a general message followed by a list of names, if that is any help.....I've not been to an Olympics before but think that access to skaters will be difficult as there is (for example) no skater hotel to leave things at & I expect security to be very tight (especially after the Xmas Day bomb attempt) so throwing it on the ice might be the only option.

Maybe that would be better Sheena! Maybe we should write a general message and add a list of names to it! I think we're a bit too late with the project. Sad If more members agree maybe we should stick with Sheena's plan?

Delivering the card to Brian seems a little problematic No Anyway, i'd love to be part of this too Very Happy

Isn't it possible to collect money from all the participants so that Sheena or Irina could buy a bigger card where all our messages would fit in? I think it would be nice if we could do that, but i know it's complicated and the time is short, so if sending a general message is the best way, i'm ok with that too Very Happy

Due to the shortness of the time, the only way which makes sense is Sheena's plan. I would have to agree with Sheena, also, that it will be very difficult to get any cards or messages to him given the security issues at the Olympics. Our best chance is for one card, filled with our names, which Sheena can take with her. Perhaps once she is in Vancouver she can find a way to get the card into Brian's hands, although I doubt that it will be easy to do.

Unfortunately, I think the same, but I really believe there'll be any possibility to deliver it to Brian. So, I'm definitely in Wink

Sheena if it's too dificult to give it to Brian in person, you can try throwing it on the ice like you said or maybe leave it at the skaters hotel in vancouver at the desk?

PostSubject: Re: Card for Brian :D   03.02.10 16:21

I doubt if we will get the chance to hand it over in person but throwing it on ice after the SP should be no problem as we have class A tickets - ie. somewhere fairly near the front. The competitors should all be staying in the Olympic village, so I doubt if we will be able to leave anything there....

So, if the decision is to go with this idea, Manon can you send me a list of all the names you have by, say next Wednesday 10th February so that I have time to write them on the card. And can everyone specify which name they want to be known as - real or user?
