Is this draw good or bad? First in the group... Not too good. I start to get nervous... and there are still two whole days until the competition...

It is not official, normally it is 5 skaters by group (I calculated just like that and on FSU it is similar!!

I consider it a good starting position.

I think it´s not a bad starting position, since there are some big names goin after him, so that could take some nerves off Razz

I think the draw is OK. Brian said after Euros SP that he didn't liek going last. 2nd in the group would have been better, but no biggie.
Great draw for the Americans, though.
This being the short program, there is no strategy involved. No one will suddenly decide to throw in (or ou) a quad - they will skate as they prepared and it is "only" a matter of controlling one's nerves, plus some comparison with your peers on PCS. Going after Plushy (10), Takahashi (17), Lambiel (19) and Oda (20), I think if Brian lands everything and doesn't leave any levels out on the ice he will get the PCS he needs for top 2.

I slept maybe 90 minutes tonight (caught some sleep just before Shen/Zhao and between Denny/Barrett and the last 2 groups), had to force myself awake for the drive to work. At this rate my brain might fry before Men's SP...

Gis, thanks for the photos! bisousfleurs The first one is adorable eros

And about Brian's starting position, i don't think it matters that much, he has to do his job anyway. If the starting order should have a certain importance, that is in the LP i think. Allez Brian!!! cheergo1

Thanx everyone for all the pictures, articles & information! thanks
I'm trying to do my homework while keeping my fingers crossed for Brian (for a whole day!). lol! Rather difficult, haha.
I don't know if the starting order will matter that much in the short. It will probably matter in the free. I just hope Brian doesn't go calculating -- now that Lysacek has ditched the quad -- and decide against the second quad toe. Well, we'll see...

Shen/Zhao made it even though they were the first couple to skate in the entire competition.

Brian can make it too. Believe in yourself!!! And we'll be crossing our fingers for him LOL

ITA! I just hope that Brian won't think and calculate as much as he normaly does during his program! Brian needs to give everything on the ice he can leave the calculating to the judges LOL!
