Joannie Rochette's mother died this morning in Vancouver ... I wish Joannie all the best! She'll have my full respect if she decides to skate ... |

| OMG! My heart goes out to Joannie. I cannot imagine that she'd go ahead and compete under this circumstances but if she should, she's a stronger person than I am.

| I'm so sorry for her, but also admire her attitude as she's still planning to compete. Brave decision! That's really sad news, it remebers me about the US volleyball team coach, whose father died at Olys in Beijing. |

| What a great short program! Expect losts of splats on Thursday as most skaters can't do two good ones in a row. Am so happy for Mao for pulling out of that bad spot she was in for so long. Hope Brian can take something from her. And Joannie Rochette! Such a tremendous courage. I couldn't breath throught her program. Hats off, truly. I missed Ngasu, she must have been very good. Did Eurosport show her? I set my DVR to record the earlier groups, but couldn't muster the energy to get up so early.
Off to work.

| I watched only the last two groups but it was great. I am sooooo happy for Mao. She was criticized many times about risking the triple axel, Im glad she managed to pull it off. Yu Na was great as always, but I have to admit that I loved Mao this time better. Probably because she had such a rough season and still managed to pull it off.
As for Joannie... It was so hard to watch for me. I didnt want to even imagine what is she going through. Life is so unfair. This should have been the time of her life. And now it will be probably the toughest experience of her life. She is brave and strong. |
