It looks it was a night of good skating. I watched the highlights on the Eurosport this morning.

Joannie's performance left me in tears. Her strength and courage are inspirational. I hope she has a great skate on Thursday and grabs a medal. Wow. Just wow.

I wake up at 3 to watch the girls short program. I did like the program of the australian girl...I think she is a promise for the future...at list I hope so!
My favourite was Mao, but Yu-Na was better than her!
I also liked Miki and Akiko...what a pity that they made mistakes(with all this I still believe that Akiko was underscored)!

I agree with Titi. Both Mao and Yu-Na were amazing but I'd put Mao first. Or at least there shouldn't be 4 points separating them. And I still like Mao a bit more Wink

I think this OG have really brought to focus the problems with CoP, especailly the value for the big elements. Add Mao's amazing 3A combo trailing Kim by 4 points to the men's debate, and maybe there will be enough agitation in the ranks to push for a CoP revision.
Imagine if Mao lands both her 3As in the free and still loses to Kim (could very well happen)...
I am counting on the Russian Federation, who would be quite dissatisfied with the resulst so far, to push for changes. Let's see if Piseev is as powerful as he is said to be.

BTW, Asada and Chan are the same age. Who has the better 3A? ;-)

Look what I noticed: 3Lutz-3Toe combo has the base value of 10 points, and 3Axel-2Toe 9.50. Yu Na got 12 points for her combination, Mao got 10.10. I know that 3Lz-3T is difficult but.... it's the triple axel we're talking about!!! Mao is the only lady who lands it! (btw was she the first one or sb did that before her? I don't know the story) I think that again the 3A is not appreciated enough. It's not fair.

Mao was the first to land 3A in combination at the Olys. Midori Ito already landed 3A.
