Manon, when Brian's axel is mentioned as his weakest element, they are taking note of the fact that it is not Brian's best jump. It's a little iffy sometimes, not always as strong of technique as his other jumps, but he always seems to manage to land it fine under pressure, has good consistency, etc.

Thank you Heidi!

I remember one moment during Euros this year;
His mom was sitting in the same sector as Nina and Me during the Men LP and at one point during the warm up of the last group Brian skated by and said something to his mother and he looked just like sweet little boy! It was soo cute!

Gailhaguet: «Brian was not rather professional »The writing - RMC Vancouver 2010 (Fr. Pesenti) - RMC, on the 17/02/2010
Didier Gailhaguet, the president of the French Federation of ice sport, came back on the poor performance of Brian Joubert during the programme short Wednesday. Frenchman ranked 18th after a calamitous passage. And already lost any chance of medal.
« Brian cracked mentally. He did not skate at his level. I am under the impact. It is unhappy for him. Our federation made its possible to accompany it in the choices which he made throughout season. Even if we did not share them willy-nilly all. I think that he made errors in his preparation, notably by refusing to go to train for abroad. He did not put all chances for his/her part. This season, he was not rather professional in his approach. Nonetheless, they remain behind him because he lived a difficult instant», declared the president of the FFSG.

Thanks Gis!

Seriously Didier!! So what if he went abroad, it's something between brian's ears! the programs were ready, Brian knew how to sell it on ice.

Olympics can be such nerve racking that a proffesional skater can crack! The tension can be too high...

Yes, that's the way to be behind your skater. Insanely pressuring him when he already showed signs of not being able to deal with it over the years and calling him unprofessional openly in public. Way to go Mr G, you got my vote as the most skater friendly Fed Head.

And it is here. Everyone will criticize him now. Everyone. Although I think he was ready physically, he has great programs... What would abroad solve? I feel I will throw up. Stay strong, Brian, stay tough, you will need it.

Alex, French media was always so, so much as a French sportsman wins it is a God when he lowers reasons for x it is a poor type...
Alex ,les médias français ont toujours été ainsi ,tant qu'un sportif français remporte des victoires c'est un Dieu lorsqu'il baisse pour x raisons c'est un pauvre type ...

Ugh, that man! If that's the kind of support you show your best skater in 40 years, no wonder he cracks under the pressure! Instead of pressing him to train abroad (with whom? Frank Carrol? Tarasova? Maybe Morozov, God forbid?) you should have brought in a sports psychologist to help him break that mental block, you idiot!
He's just trying to distance himself from the French disappointment.
The sad thing is, Brain seemed to trust this guy above anyone save him mom. Now I can see why he'd have such trust issues.
