I'm relieved, too...Brian isn't injured, that's the main thing.

But I cancelled my trip to Oberstdorf. No Brian, no Tomas - no Nebelhorn Trophy for me this year. No

So this week I'll watch the Pope on TV instead of Brian live... Rolling Eyes

You've cancelled? Really? Shocked A skating competition without Brian and Tomas is still better than no skating competition at all, imo. No

Especially when considering some of the skaters who haven't withdrawn: Brezina, Fernandez, Hanyu and Ten, to name some of the men; Nagasu in the ladies' event, a really good pairs' field led by V/T, and the lovely Hurtado/Diaz in dance. I might have gone if it were nearer where I live! Assuming it's not too expensive, that is.

If Brian hadn't been announced, I had never thought about going to NHT. If this competition would take place in my hometown or nearby - okay, but I'm really short of money at the moment and it requires careful consideration for which events I can spend it. So I will save it for Nizza...

Furthermore there will take place a meeting of our travelling group on Saturday (we went to Scotland last October), and in these circumstances I prefer to meet my friends. Most of them I haven't seen for a long time...deep in my heart there's a little gleam of joy, side by side with the disappointment! Sad Smile

Therefore I really know why I cancelled my trip. But I wish you all a pleasant journey and lots of fun in Oberstdorf!

See you later, girls... hug

Wow. I really liked his SP. I didn't realize so many people were complaining about it. It's a shame. Brian doesn't seem to be allowed to be himself. If fans don't like him as he is, there are plenty of other skaters they can watch. I'm tired of this idea that he keeps changing to please people. Mad

Anyhoo, for those of you who were going, that really sucks. I hope you were able to get all your money back, Anja without too many cancellation fees. I've only been following ice skating closely since these last Olympics but it seems like Brian backs out of things a lot. Maybe it's his team or injuries, etc, but it seems that his plans are never very solid. I think it might be best not to book vacations based on him being in a competition or show unless they're really close to home and you don't have to spend on travel and hotels. That's why tennis players are fined if they skip a tournament. The organizers promote the tourneys based on who's going to be in it and they don't want people to ask for refunds if say Federer or Nadal withdraws.

edit: I was typing while you posted, Anja. Have fun with your group.

I also cancelled my trip to Oberstdorf with a lot of regrets, as I like this village so much!!!
My main reason was Brian, of course. But I can manage to change the destination to Orleans. Between seeing the competitions without Brian and with him I've choosen the second.
Unfortunately, I can't visit the both events, it's too expensive for me. So, I hope to support Brian in Orleans instead of Oberstdorf.
Have a good time, girls!

I move subject here!
I want to all members to make a good trip and to make nice photos and to tell us this competition!
I am upset that members cancel their trips but I hope that you will be able to see Brian in another competition in France and elsewhere.

I also cancelled my trip, it was a big reason for me to go there this year, but without Brian and Tomas. I have the same opinion as Anja... I save the money for Nice!!! And at first; FOR SHEFFIELD, cause I´m there Volunteer again, girls and I hope, I could more often report you of the competitions there next year ;-)
But I hope Brian will be good at Masters, so I´m not so disappointet of his withdraw at NHT, pity, cause I want to congratulte him to his birthday...
