The same new-old problem with coaches Sad... and program. I liked Incepcia but if the judges didn't (if I understand well) so he has to change it (shame). I'm loking forward to see Glediator and hope he will gets finally high components notes. Very Happy

I completely don't understand why he's changing Inception. It was a very good programme and I guess I don't get Brian any more. It's a pity :/ Now he'll do a quick poor programme for Euros again and the little self-confidence that he regained will be lost again.

I agree. I told my friend that Inception could be potentially his best programme ever if skated cleanly, music is beautiful and I really really liked the choreo so I was sooo in love with this programme and then BAM, he is changing it. why why why? He didn´t skated it cleanly, he couldn´t get perfect scores yet... I understand the worry about component scores but the cleanier is his ksate the higher they are. I am just sad about it, but it´s his choice to make, we will see how it works out.

Maybe the judges at TEB told him that it would never be a winning program, so he decided to change it? After all, it only matters what the judges are thinking about. Or then he received so much great feedback of the Gladiator that he wanted to try that program now and not risk it for the Olympic season. Now he has two programs from which to choose for the Olympics.

I read on LMDJ that Brian is back in Poitiers, commuting for training and currently coachless, though he does plan to eventually reunite with Guyon. This is so not good. Is this training alone thing just for the holidays? I don't have much hope of a good Euros for him.

Also, apparently switching to Gladiator was Gailhaguet's idea. Now all becomes clear: not only does Brian like it and had had good fan response to it, one can only antagonize one's federation so much - and if you are about to dump your federation approved coach and living arrangements, making a "suggested" music and program change is not a bad idea.

I hope it means that he's going back to Guyon in the spring. Wonder where he's commuting to? I hope it's Tours, since Niort seemed like it didn't have enough ice time, and Gueppe is supposed to be in Tours.

At the Oberstdorf gala, he skated a changed version of the Gladiator program. There are new music cuts, which are ok on the whole, although there's one piece that sounds like it's from a battle scene in the middle that seems a little disjointed from the piece it follows and precedes. Otherwise, I like that the program ends quite dramatically. I rather liked the previous version with the vocals in the second half, but I suppose it's better to play it safe in competition since he might get a music penalty for it.

Don't particularly like the one-sleeved look, though upon closer inspection the other side is just a nude-colored sleeve. Don't know what was wrong with the previous costume, except perhaps it would be improper to compete in a costume without sleeves? At one of the other galas he had this fur thing on one shoulder, which seems like it'd be awfully distracting during a program. He should just lose the fur/cape altogether. I'll reserve judgment on the actual choreography for now, since I don't think this is the final program yet. Boy, I hope things come together by Euros.

I really hope he will train with Veronique soon!!! I am really worried about him training alone. I am afraid the Euros will be a catastrophe! He needs to test the program in front of the judges. I have to say his jumps didn't look very secure in the recent gala videos. Maybe it was because of the ice but I don't think he is in great shape either. I really wonder how bad is the situation between him and the federation, I bet they now only promote Amodio for the judges. No

I read on PASSION PATINAGE (there is a small debate on the forum),

I read Roche on the blog of a girl of on Yon where Brian if there entrainait for month and it was for this that he had participated in Christmas gala.

I hope that he trains with Veronique Guyon or other coach, that he doesn't stay alone up to European championships!
J'ai lu sur Passion Patinage ( il y a un petit débat sur le forum) ,

J'espère qu'il s'entraîne avec Veronique Guyon ou autre coach ,qu'il ne reste pas seul jusqu'aux championnats d'Europe!

I found that blog and asked the girl if Brian has a coach there. She said he doesn't have any particular coach. I am very worried about this too.

OK, so I finally watched the exhibition from Oberstdorf.
Gosh, it was hard to concentrate, this music reminds me Alexei oh so much! (MITIM is just the same.)
Anyway, I think Gladiator is a suitable character for Brian (though I loved Inception...).

Im worried about the coaching situation.

We will see, what happens. Our dear Brian is sometimes a trouble-maker, he can be stubborn and so on, but thats why we (at least I) love him, isnt it?

Yeah, for me it seems so... Sometimes I really don't understand his decisions.

I really don't understand this situation. He has known Annick Dumont for years - he knows her coaching style and must have been aware of the risks before he said "yes" to her. Then when things didn't work out he just left knowing that there wouldn't be any coach. It's funny how he says that there is plenty of good coaches in France but honestly he only seems to want Veronique. It wouldn't be a surprise if the FFSG would "punish" him of his stubborn behavior and not send him to Zagreb.

No

Well, the split with Depouilly was not something Brian chose, he seemed to like working with Gueppe, and though it ended badly, he had good results with Simond. So I see his point. As for Dumont, it's one thing to work with someone at a summer training camp and quite another when it's your main choice. Maybe, with the federation pushing that solution, he figured he might as well give it a shot.

Gailhaguet is not stupid. Unless Brian is in really poor shape, no way will it be left up to Chafik to help ensure three Euros slots for the Olympic season. That's too much pressure for him. And Brian did go along with the program change, which I believe was Gailhaguet's idea.
