I think it's quite ironic that Brian gets SB here with his not-so-perfect skate compared how fabulously he skated at Worlds with 2 quads and all. Still, the score is low and I think I have lost all hope because of the judging system. I won't ever understand how Chan can be placed above him after his disaster programs. The PCS (mostly transitions) seem to become all that matters in figure skating anymore. I'm tired that I have to feel angry after most of the men's competitions.

The judges were very strict for Brian, this wants to tell what? oust?

A Chan and company fall, they have points and are in front of Brian turn a jump, it has low notes?
Les juges ont été très sévères pour Brian , ça veut dire quoi ? oust ?

Chan et compagnie tombent ,ils ont des points et sont devant Brian tourne un saut ,il a des notes basses ?
grrrrrrrrrmur irritated. icon_boxe

He was so great today! So proud of him.

Some are overscored some are underscored. But seriously, this is getting more and more ridiculous with ever competition. I'm shaking at the thought of Sochi 2014. If this is what happens at the WTT, imagine at Sochi 2014...
Simply don't know what to say. I mean, it's all clear and visible to everyone who has atleast minimal knowledge of figure skating, and it's not only about Brian.

I better not start commenting what I think about Chan and company scores. grrrrrrrrrmur grrrrrrrrrmur grrrrrrrrrmur

p.s. Anyone knows if there's a chance to see him at the gala?

I hope Team France will keep those costumes tomorrow so we can see Brian as a squirrel! I love you

I'm not sure about the gala but I guess they might invite him again. It's funny how they want to see him at gala but don't think his interpretation etc. is good enough at competitions. Rolling Eyes

I just wonder what Brian can do anymore next season to improve his position? I guess nothing. No

I can't believe everyone will sit back next year and let the Canadians dictate wins for Chan the way they have. There have been enough rumblings from former champions after Worlds that I don't think people will be quiet in an Olympic year. The best part is the first person to suffer in this competition was actually Kevin Reynolds, a fellow Canadian. If they just care about their country winning medals, wouldn't they be happy to let Kevin take a higher medal than Chan, especially when he deserves it? But even he has to take a back seat to the falling phenom. I really don't understand why Chan is the Chosen One. Even before he started falling I was sitting here thinking that I don't like his skating at all. I've always thought that. He skates stiff and ugly, imo.

I seriously just sat here and laughed all the way through Chan's free skate. As far as I'm concerned the judges are just mocking themselves at this point.

I've been watching Men's Free in Yoyogi.
Perhaps because of tired, did not have the speed skating of Brian than usual. but first quadruple jump was great.
I think Gladiator is very suited to him, and evaluation of interpreration of Brian is nice and even higher.

Reynolds was the standing ovation had many no1 on this day.

In Japan, there are many opinions of Chan is that too high evaluation.

Menshov...the dislocated shoulder falling, he is likely to be necessary rest for two weeks.

Vanessa and Morgan were seriously robbed. They skated so well today and deserved better than that score and a 4th place finish. I'm not sure who the FFSG is politikking for these days, all the French skaters seem to be undermarked in recent events.

I have enjoyed Team France in the K&C, so there's at least that Smile

Here's Tatjana Flade's day 2 summary. This is the part about Brian:

Quote :
Brian Joubert of France showed his fighting spirit again, battling some illness and fatigue. He pulled off a quad toe and seven triples to finish 7th (227.95 points). “I am very satisfied. For sure I am not in top shape. I haven’t worked since Worlds, because I was too tired. It was hard, I lost a lot of energy for Worlds and I had problems to get back to work. But I got my seasons best. This wasn’t a great program, but it gives me confidence and it motivates me to work for next season”, the always popular Frenchman said.
If he's sick and hasn't trained much since Worlds, than the somewhat watered down content is more than understandable. Less understandable is the judging of this event, but hopefully the FFSG & Gailhaguet will realize that they need to start supporting their skaters properly.

Team France won the team spirit award. I think they deserved it for the exceptional use of costumes and props and for cheering even though they finished last. I hope Nathalie is proud of them Wink

Thanks Yulie, it is good news, I would have preferred that France keeps the third place or fourth (more blow) remembers me..
The judges were not to strive towards her.
Merci Yulie, c'est une bonne nouvelle, j'aurais préféré que la France garde la troisième place ou quatrième (me souvient plus du coup) ..
Les juges n'ont pas été tendre envers elle .

Great that they won the Team Spirit Award!

It's a strange sport if you need to politic in order to get fair results.
But it's suspicious that so many French skaters have been wuzrobbed during this season. Maybe something has happened behind the scenes?
