"coucou"-it is a gentle and cute version of "bonjour" or "salut"...

Vicky, you will probably have noticed that in French the adjective comes after the noun - the opposite to English! study

Yes ! It's very interesting ! ....but French and English..and also Itarian and so on,.... Embarassed these are very different from Japanese in grammar.I think that Chinese is a bit near English or French in grammar more than Japanese. even it's asian language. I should have studied when I was a student.. pale

Waouh, ce sujet a tout à fait échappé à mon attention. Embarassed en tout cas, je donnerais pour traduction :

1 - À tout a l'heure, ou, plus littéralement, à plus tard, selon le contexte
2 - Pouvez-vous (peux-tu) me donner... ? C'est correct, techniquement, mais je préfère pourriez-vous (pourrais-tu) me donner... ? qui se traduit en anglais par Could you give me... ? Je trouve cela fait plus poli.
3 - J'aime ta photo/ta photo me plaît
4 - ??? "I want to this photo" n'a pas de sens en anglais. Pour "I want this photo", ce serait Je veux cette photo (-ci ; -là).

heureuse = feminine version of being happy. Roughly.

oublie = singular first, third person indicative/subjunctive mood conjugation of oublier, which is to forget.

Heidi, I am not Gislaine but if you would like, I will post a translation of « Petit Papa Noël » as soon as I have the time.

Le Petit Papa Noël

Version Originale
Merci à Paroles.net

C'est la belle nuit de Noël
La neige étend son manteau blanc
Et les yeux levés vers le ciel,
A genoux, les petits enfants,
Avant de fermer les paupières,
Font une dernière prière.

{Refrain:}

Pour voir si tu m'as apporté
Tous les beaux joujoux que je vois en rêve
Et que je t'ai commandés

{Refrain}

{Refrain}
Petit Papa Noël...

Ma traduction

It's the pleasant night of Christmas
The snow spreads out her white coat
And eyes lifted towards the sky,
On their knees, the little children,
Before closing their eyelids,
Send a final prayer

{Refrain}
Dear Father Christmas
When you come down from the heavens
With your toys by the thousands
Don't forget my little shoe*

But, before leaving,
You'll have to cover yourself well
Outside, you're going to be so cold
And it's a little bit because of me

I long for the sun to rise
To see if you have brought me
All of the wonderful toys that I'm dreaming of
And that I've ordered from you

{Refrain}

The sandman has come
The children go sleepy-time
And you will be able to begin
With your sack on your back
To the melody of church bells
Your delivery of surprises

And when you're on your pretty cloud
Come first to our house
I haven't been perfect all year
But I ask your forgiveness

{Refrain...}
Petit Papa Noël...

_____________
*In France, the gifts are left in a shoe left out for Papa Noël to fill. I suppose that this is rather analageous to the "Stocking" tradition that you are probably more familiar with.
