Okay!! I finally got to see the Alexei and Marat vid! cheering That was fabulous, without a doubt!

Krista...I want to know who was recording video while you girls were being overcome while watching Alexei skate? LOL I cannot imagine how you could have done the filming--holding the camera steady--and scream, yell and clap at the same time, LOL. I loved listening to you girls screaming and whooping because it brought back a lot of memories from when I saw Alexei compete at Hallmark 2002 in the US. Just love those kinds of memories!

PostSubject: Re: Ilia Averbukh's Stars on Ice Tour   14.04.07 19:39

Gita :kissvn8.gif: , jup there was a great view to "practice" mdr !!! But ok, here goes my promised report, 1st part:

We ( me, my friend from Nastya's forum - Lidia with her mom ) arrived at the arena a little bit past 18:00. A little bit later I met with Gita! LOl, I was wearing my Euros cap with autogrpahs, so she recognized me easily Smile
We then just hanged out and joked about what would we do if we would suddenly hear "Don't give up" mdr !! After that me ang Gita went to buy a programme, when we were heading back, we suddenly heard music coming from the ice rink, so we rushed upstairs hoping that we will be able to watch some practice, BUT, when we asked the girl standing in front of the entrance she said that it's not possible grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr !!! Arrg, we were mad!! We just had to go back and "look" at the practice from one side of the rink, where you could see something only if you would step higher on the metal gates...But after some 5min came one person, we didn't really get it if she was a man or a woman mdr and she kept on glancing at us :337malzonka.gi So in that spirit we "watched" practices. When it was closer to 19:30 people were passing us buy and standing behind us, cuz they probably thought that we can see everything perfectly lol! !!!

So now the show itself:
At first I was shocked by the number of full seats, EVERY seat, was taken except some, but you could count on fingers the empty ones!! And in our arena there are seats for about 10500 people.

The beggining started with Guseva singing and all the skaters coming out!! Everyone was warm welcomed.
Then Ilia announced that the show will be opened by latvian kids. So little kiddies were skating in russian folk costumes to Kalinka - clapping from all arena!!!
Yana Hohlova/Sergei Novickii - skating to some spanish music, I liked them, clean skating just in the end Sergei fell.
Valeria Tishler/Viktor Mitnik - very impressive, not so much of skating, but WOW about the acrobatic elements, just amazing, by the way they were skating this programm also last year, it's the one with cigarette Smile
2nd their performance was to "Barbie girl" from AQUA, the beggining was pretty interesting, you will see it later in the pics sunny Again amazing acrobatic elements :p Just amazing, no words there.
Ilia Klimkin - don't know the name of the programms, but I was shocked to see his great jumps, first one looked like a quad almost lol! . Ilia doesn't get old mdr He was received with big applause!
Alexandr Abt - OMG, he looks so similar to Karel, with those mid long, blond hairs Lol!! First programm was to Brian Adams - "Everything I do", very emotional and beautiful and the 2nd one was "Gasolina" mdr , all I can say is, not bad Very Happy But as I don't really like it, then it was so so for me
mdr

to be continued Smile

Are you serious? lol! Really, I don't see much in common between the two. Probably, that's because I'm not a big fan of Zelenka. He looks a bit 'girly' to me.

Krista, may be. He looks like a nice guy, I just don't root for him, that's it. Also I think that 'Alexander' soundtrack doesn't match his appearence. I could imagine someone with Smirnov's looks skating to it, but Karel - Question

It was the best show I've ever seen indeed! Both shows were sold out. The audience was marvelous and cheered the skaters so much. Also the steward's were very kind. Many thanks to Riga, it was great! :Merci2:
We met many skaters and could talk to them before and after the practise as well as after the show. My sweetheart Sasha joined us in the pause and talked to us ;-) He and also Andrei were very happy about the scrapbooks and thanked all who participated. Unfortunately I'm not able to take few nice photos with my camera during the show because of the darkness. But we took some very nice photos off ice. In addition to Sasha and Andrei for example of Masha and Alexei, Tania and Roman, Oksana and Maxim, Povilas and of Alexei ;-)
Tania will write the detailled report about the show and the interview in correct English ;-)

Yep, I visited the first show!!! I didn't had the time to go to the other one, too, because I had to learn a lot on friday Neutral

Latvian - kind people???!!! You probably met some exceptions, because I really don't think Latvian are kind... But Riga is beautiful, sometimes it is called "little Paris" :greensmilewink

Sometimes we've trouble to hang up Sasha's banner and some steward's (sorry, I don't know if it is the correct name) are unkind. By contrast all the people in Riga's icerink were very kind like them in Rostov on Don. When we said good bye and thanked for their kindness they ask to come again next year;-)

lol! In arena there are mostly kind people!!! Because they've come to the show and they're excited about it, it's like when you go to any country in the world for fs competition, mostly everyone will be nice to you!! Smile When they go to a show they leave other problems behind, so they become kind, but in everyday...
It's like how our french teacher told us, in France if you will step on someone's foot, you'll receive "pardon" even from the person on which foot you've stepped on, in Latvia if something like that would happen you won't receive no "pardon ( of course said in latvian )", you'll receive a cold look and loud "oouch" which is in the best case!!!

Krista :337malzonka.gi that's not true - I think that most of the latvians are kind people, unkind are the smaller part.... Shame on you - I'm shocked - how could you say that rage
