ice rink = patinoire (phonetically, 'pah-teen-wah')
short program = programme court
long program = programme libre

Double, triple, quadruple have the same name
Toe Loop = boucle piqué

Camel spin = Pirouette arabesque or pirouette allongée

footwork = Jeu de pieds ( les petits pas ?)

How are you - comment allez vous?, which literally translates to how go you *the z is not really pronounced, allez is allay, also the s on the end of vous is not really enunciated either.

:incass: ladies, maybe I've said it before, but some time ago I sent a filled form for attending french courses from September till December!!! I have no answer yet, , but I hope all will go fine!!!
Yesterday I bought a book, called "French language 15min in a day", and I so love this book, there is all what is needed for such a bonehead person in french as I am now , and I already can count to ten, say what may name is, say in french how is called every member in my family, and even make some sentences, I love it soo much, french is great!!!! And I'm in progress proces, so soon I won't be a bonehead anymore

Krista, we can be learning-French-people together! I can usually write simple sentences but once it comes to speaking, I'm reduced to "Allez Babou" and "J'aime Brian".

I finished my 1 semester of French in May, but I know as little as if I didn't take french classes at all. I'm sure we can help each other, writing short post in French, correcting mistakes and sharing useful links.

For Russian speakers I can advise Popova's 'Manuel de Francais' And I do not advise any courses based on communicative method!

Olga, for 3 years. But our classes leave much to be desired. I know how to say such simple things as 'Distribuez les cles' ("Give out the keys" Whom? Why? I have no answer:) and 'Dites-moi, svp, pour fair repasser mes vetements' ("Tell me, please, to have my cothes ironed...") But I have no idea about pronunciation and grammar...
