Cristopher Bowman has been found dead in a motel in the US aged 40. (most of the youngsters may not have heard of him) He was a top skater late 1980's-early 1990's a rival of Kurt Browning & Todd Eldredge. Twice US champion & twice a Worlds medalist, 4th in 1992 Olympics, he is usually considered a lost or wasted talent & had a knack for getting into trouble - drugs, drink, guns etc - the "bad boy" of his time. I remember him coming to Dundonald Ice Bowl for one of their early ice shows (back in the days when they held good ice shows!!), Kurt Browning was there another year - just before winning his 1st World title.

Melissa & Denis' accident at SC has cost them the whole season, hope they come back even stronger & better next year!

Two more snippets.....

Emily Hughes has withdrawn from US nationals due to a hip injury - she cannot train for about a month, so it looks like her season could be over early.

KVDP is not the only one anticipating surgery right after Worlds, Miki Ando is planning to have April operation which will hopefully stop her shoulder from dislocating so readily (it can even happen when she is asleep Shocked ), a 3 month recovery is expected & she hopes to be back for the GP next season.

Wishing both girls good health!

I read Sasha's news on IFS magazine. She said " I plan to start training full-on again next June, I'll start competing again next season." I'm glad that I can see her skating on competition again !!

Lol, Irina, I think I probably agree with you about Sasha. She frustrates me! irritated.

Thanks for the article, Annie! I'll be cheering for Evan, even though I still love Johnny!

Julie, I will do the same. Very Happy I love both Evan and Johnny, but this season I'm certainly more into Evan's skating, so good luck for him in the Nationals!

I read this news flash about Plushenko in a Romanian newspaper this morning:

Plushenko skating in Bucharest again
http://www.prosport.ro/articole/plusenko-patineaza-din-nou-la-bucuresti/75083

Evgheni Plushenko will perform in a new show together with Edvin Marton on the ice of Bucharest, at the Polyvalent Hall, on April 24th & 25th. During the show "Kings on Ice II", the Olympic champion will present the program he is preparing for the 2009 World Championships for the first time. Five-time European champion Surya Bonaly will also join the show.

So is Plusheko really planning to return in 2009? Rolling Eyes
