Oh, goodie!
Interesting choregrapher - though I remember Peter skating some interesting programmes during his competition days! Has he done much choregraphy? _________________ ~Sheena~

| Hmmmm.....apparently Plushenko is in trouble with the St. Petersburg Assembly for attending only 11 of their sessions; there's talk of stripping him of his seat in the local parliment. http://www.times.spb.ru/index.php?action_id=2&story_id=31331 I wonder why he ran for the seat if did not intend to go the sessions? Does he think that because he's a gold medal Olympian that he should be able to do whatever he wants? I got news for him---it doesn't work that way, lol. Mary C. |

| Over on Golden Skate, there's a new article/interview with Nathalie and Fabian, and they talk a bit about their plans for 2010-11 and their new programs:

Hahaha, what a great resposne this is about the new free dance music limitations: ""To be honest, I think that's good," Pechalat commented. "If you are watching (Tessa) Virtue and (Scott) Moir skating to four minutes of slow music it is fine, but if a weaker couple is skating to four minutes of slow music, it is boring." I'd love it if it was that simple! |

| This is really surprising, and also strange somehow, since Orser said he doesn't know the reason for the split!? And team Yuna accuses him of lying? Also I find it quite sad that Yuna is "discussing" the matter on her Twitter account. Imo it's supposed to be something private and not for all her fans to read: | Quote: | | Would you please stop to tell a lie, B? I know exactly what's going on now and this is what I've DECIDED. |

| I read about the Yu-Na/Brian Orser split on Livejournal. I can't believe it. It's mind-boggling. |

| Thanks for the link to Yu-Na's Twitter account, Nina. Yeeks! This is all getting so....bizarre. From all that I've read there was some kind of misunderstanding in regard to a period of time, earlier this summer when Brian backed off from training Yu-Na. Depending on whose account one reads, one says the Yu-Na camp agreed to it, while another account indicates she didn't understand that Orser would be attending to other skaters during that time period. What did she think he was supposed to do? lol Sit on his hands and wait for her to wind down from her Olympic experience? In other articles there's the suggesting that Mao Asada had approached Orser about coaching her (at least, that's the assupmtion), and Yu-Na's camp was all uspset about that, being that Mao is her direct rival. However, it may well have been some other skater who approached Orser, looking for a new coach. I don't know.... perhaps Yu-Na felt Orser should only be attending to her. According to what I've read, Orser didn't have any contract with Yu-Na, so there's nothing which stipulates that a no-competition clause exists between the two of them, and as such, Brian can do as he pleases---coaching whom he pleases, at the same time as he's coaching her. Maybe Yu-Na and her entourage didn't understand the ramifications of that. This twitter post, however, is not the classy way to handle this, considering everything that is boiling up in the Press. Exactly Mary!! I mean, what did Yu-Na's camp think Adam Rippon, Christina Gao, and Orser's other students were doing at the rink? Just hanging out? |

| Thanks, Nina, for the link to "The Star" article.
What does Team Yu-Na expect...after calling Orser a liar in the press? Just because she's got that coveted Olympic gold medal doesn't mean she can allow her mother to mishandle the situation and drag Orser's good name through the dirt nor can she make less than appropriate Twitter and blog postings. I suppose part of her reaction to all this is an attempt to come to the defense of her mother's/agent's actions. However, Yu-Na is standing of shaky footing with her claim that he's lying since she wasn't present at the time her mother fired Orser. All of what she knows that took place, or was said, is merely hearsay. This whole nightmare has been a travesty brought on with the stupid handling by her management (namely, her momma).
David Wilson has been terribly quiet through all this; I certainly like to read his take on what happened and what he thinks is going on with all this, although I can understand his not wishing to add to the foray.

| Lysacek will not compete during the remainder of 2010 but may try for the US Nationals and the Sochi Olympics in 2014.
http://newsblogs.chicagotribune.com/sports_globetrotting/2010/09/lysacek-clarifies-situation-no-grand-prix-50-50-for-nationals.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
With Plushenko ineligible and Lysacek out for, at least, the rest of the year this changes what the men's field will be this season and may improve Joubert's chances if he can get his act together.
