Mao Asada finally has a coach: it's Nobuo Sato, Yuka's father and Kozuka's coach (source). I think it's a really smart choice for her, he's a very good coach and has a calming presence which I think will be good for her.

hmmm Visibility award... I looked it up:

Quote:
The Human Rights Campaign Visibility Award recognizes LGBT individuals who are living open and honest lives at home, at work and in their greater community – attributes that align with HRC's mission of creating a country that inspires and engages all Americans to work toward ending discrimination against LGBT citizens and realizing a nation that achieves fundamental fairness and equality for all. Past recipients of the coveted National Visibility Award include WNBA star Sheryl Swoopes and "Young and the Restless" star Thom Bierdz, among others.

Well done Johnny!

Tomas Verner has finally decided on a new coach, he's going to Toronto and will train with Bob Emerson. PJ Kwong has more details. I hope this will work out for him! sunny

I hope that this season will be better for Tomas because the last seasons oscillate between the voucher and the very very bad and believe in me that costs me to say the similar things. I hope that it will be too for the meeting and that he will show all the area of his talent, because he has it and to resell. Wink

Wink

Hope it's good season for Tomas too because he really is very good skater with talent and he's in my top 5 favourite skaters. He just isn't too stable at his competitions. Hope this season goes well for all the skaters despite if they are my favourite or not Smile

(...but of course I want Brian to win the gold anywhere he goes... Razz )

I have a question. I was reading this article: http://www.goldenskate.com/articles/2010/080110.shtml
And it says there:

Quote:
Although the compulsory dances is not a separate part of the competition anymore, the skaters are still training it.

What does it mean? There is no CD anymore? I had no idea scratch

No, they now have the Short Dance Wink I see it as some mixture between the CD and OD. Most couples' SD in Oberstdorf started like a CD and then turned into an OD Razz

Here is an example. Péchalat/Bourzat's SD to Amélie:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_uqh0_J93Y

This season, every couple needs to have a Waltz in the program, and as far as i remember can add on more standard dance. In P/B's case, it is Waltz+Tango
