Thanks Gislaine!

Good to see some of the big names entered, I wonder if they all will actually compete?

Johnny Weir has announced he's not going to 4CC's. Jeremy Abbott will go instead.

http://web.icenetwork.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080131&content_id=43293&vkey=ice_news

Here's hoping that Inoue/Baldwin does the same thing and Evora/Ladwig can go. Twisted Evil

Thanks for the updated news, Jojo! Do we know if there is any reason why Johnny is not going to 4CC's? scratch

Update: According to Johnny's site, he's not going to 4CC in order to focus and prepare for Worlds. I sort of figured that was what was going on. Oh well, he knows what is best for him. Very Happy

The only thing in the way of your wish is that Inoue & Baldwin have only done Nationals so far this season & would probably like an extra competition before Worlds!

I think that Johnny is wise to concentrate on training between now & Worlds.

I remember that he said this comment after 2007 U.S.Nationals. Last year, he could not to go the show (Tatiana Tarasova’s show). Because he didn't compete in the 2007 4CC either. So I also think that he prefer to ready for Worlds more than to go to 4CC .
Quote :
The Four Continents I did one time, and I’ve never done it again because it’s so difficult to compete there right after our National Championship. But my Federation wanted the best skaters to be in the competition. They wanted to make it something special like the European Championship. So, they wouldn’t let any skaters do shows at the same time unless we compete in Four Continents.

Another withdrawal. Yu-Na Kim WD's because of hip injury.

Man, this news is a total downer to South Koreans who'll want to see YNK kick some ass in this comp. Sad

People in FSU think that US and Canadian Nationals should be held in December rather than January so skaters going to 4CC could have time to prepare for 4CC's and World's. Lots of European countries have their Nats in December which gives the skaters time to prepare for Euros and have more strength for Worlds.

I really like the idea of 4CC's because it gives 4th place and below skaters at US Nats a chance to compete with skaters internationally and give them a some sort of a Worlds whenever they get a chance to go there. US skater Amber Corwin has never gotten to the Worlds but she's been to 4CC's many times saying it was like a World's for her.

Plus I like that non Euro countries have an alternative to the Euros. Smile

Aw, I hope that Yuna's health improves. But I hope that this time off will allow her to be in perfect shape for Worlds. She is one of my favorite skaters, and she has had a great season, so I would hate to see it end this way.

And yes, I think that 4CCs are a good thing, of course, because the Europeans have the Euros, and everyone else needs a competition. But yes, the US and Can nationals are too close. There is not enough time in between.

I can't say it any better than Jojo. Lol. Wink

Thanks Gislaine!

The top 3 guys all have high marks - especially PCS'!?!

I've been reading (on Goldenskate) that Daisuke had no quad, only Evan of the top 3 had a quad.

Good scores for Daisuke. He worried me a lot last year and I´m afraid he´s going to worry me this one as well Rolling Eyes .
Well, I guess he´s in his "side of the world" in this championship; we´ll see in Gotheborg.

everytime i watch evan sp this season one question comes to mind : is he going to attend a funeral after??? the sp is actually nice, but i find it very hard to get over how bad he looks in that outfit. i am not trying to be mean but is anyone else feel that evan has a couple of moves that work really good for him ( like lifting his leg to his head and spinning on one foot ) and he keeps doing those over and over again in the sp and lp???
jeff's sp is nice as well. jeff has such a face that i can't say anything bad about him. as i already told you i think, i always think he looks like peter pan ( just imagine him dressed in green and with his hands on his waist Razz )
daisuke's sp is really good this season. his hair annoys me but there i nothing bad i can say about his skating. oh, wait, where was the quad???
